I started this shop a couple years after I had to stop working due to cancer treatments becoming too much. I’m still shocked and do a little happy dance every time I get an order. I named my shop TheGISTofit27 because my cancer is called Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor, or GIST for short, and the 27 is the day I had my first surgery, February 7th or 2/7/17, which led to my cancer diagnosis at 23. Welcome to **theGISTofit27**—a labor of love where every piece is crafted with passion, resilience, and creativity. I'm Julia Wood, the founder and creative force behind this small, women-owned business. Since 2019, I've poured my heart into designing and handcrafting unique clothing, accessories, and home goods that not only reflect my personal journey but also bring joy and inspiration to others.

As a stage 4 GIST cancer patient since February 2017, crafting became my refuge and my way of fighting back. After my second cancer surgery, I found solace in creating, and what started as a therapeutic hobby quickly grew into a thriving business. I'm especially proud of my “fuck cancer” merchandise, which embodies both my defiance and hope. I also have a deep love for pop culture and band-inspired designs, and I delight in bringing custom ideas to life for my customers. I am based in the fabulous Las Vegas Nevada, and cam ship anywhere!

In 2022, I took the leap to share my creations with the world by opening a shop on Etsy, and in 2023, I expanded to TikTok Shop.
